The Trial, the End of a Subscription and How Long Your Sites Are Kept

What the fourteen-day trial allows you to do, what happens when it ends or when a subscription ends, the reminders sent, and how long your sites are kept.

Your account is always in one of these situations: on trial, subscribed, or without an active subscription. Nothing is ever deleted without notice, and taking out a subscription reopens everything instantly.

During the trial

The trial lasts fourteen days from the creation of your account, with no bank card required. You create your sites, edit them and publish them: they are online and can be shared. A banner shows how many days are left, and two emails let you know, seven days and then one day before the end.

At the end of the trial or the subscription

  • Your sites go offline: their address displays a “not found” page.
  • Your account switches to read-only: you can view everything, but editing, publishing and creating are suspended. A “Read-only account” banner offers Resolve this.
  • Nothing is deleted. Taking out a subscription puts your sites back online immediately, with no need to republish.

After a cancellation

A cancelled subscription remains active until the end of the period already paid for: your sites stay online until then. After that, the account returns to the situation of an account without a subscription (read-only, sites offline), or resumes its trial if any days were left. Resume my subscription is available at any time before the expiry date.

Deletion, six months later

An account left without a subscription is kept for six months after the end of the trial or the subscription. You receive an email one month after expiry, reminding you of the retention date, then a final one fifteen days before deletion. Without this notice, deletion never takes place. Once deleted, sites, media and data can no longer be recovered.

Two other read-only cases

  • Over capacity: your account uses more sites than your subscription and your options cover, for example after an option has ended. Delete the excess sites or reactivate the option: read-only mode ends immediately.
  • Suspension: decided by us in the event of a breach of the terms and conditions. The account is neither purged nor reopened by a payment: write to us from the Contact page.
