What your buyer sees
The purchase journey on your published site, from basket to confirmation, and the customer area where everyone can find their orders.
Nothing to install: as soon as your shop is ready and your site is published, your visitors buy directly on your pages. The basket is stored in their browser, and the entire journey takes place on your site, in your colours.
From basket to payment
- Basket: the list of items, the subtotal, and the Order button. An out-of-stock product or a quantity greater than available stock is blocked here.
- Your details: the email address (required), the name, the phone number if you have asked for it, then the delivery method (home delivery or collection in person) and the delivery address for products to be shipped.
- Billing: same as the delivery address by default; otherwise a company name and an intra-Community VAT number, both optional.
- Payment: the payment method (credit card or bank transfer), an optional promo code, the link to your terms and conditions of sale, and the legal notice “By clicking ‘Pay’, you are confirming an order with an obligation to pay”. Card payment takes place on the page, without leaving your site.
- Confirmation: “Thank you! Your order is confirmed”, with the reference number and an email sent out. For a bank transfer, the page displays your bank details and the reference to quote; the order is confirmed once you mark the transfer as received.
The customer area
Every site with a shop has a Customer area page, generated when you publish, with no setup on your part. Buyers log in without a password: they enter their email address and receive a six-digit code. There they will find My orders (with the preparation and shipping tracking that you update), My details (which pre-fill their future orders) and Privacy, from where they can download their data or delete their customer area.
Deleting their area erases their contact details; their orders, however, are kept for ten years, as commercial regulations require.
