Opening your shop

Where to find the shop, what to set up before you sell, the pages it adds to your site, and how your visitors reach it.

The shop is a section of your site: open the site from “My Websites”, then click Shop in the left-hand column. No commission is taken on your sales: the money from each order goes straight into your account.

It is made up of six tabs: Products, Showcase Pages, Display, Stock, Orders and Settings. The quickest route to selling: create a product, then complete the settings until the banner announces “Your shop is ready to sell”, and publish the site.

One catalogue per site, one payment set-up per account

Each site has its own catalogue: its products, its showcase pages, its promo codes, its campaigns and its Display tab. If your account has several sites, you can sell different things on each one.

Payment collection, on the other hand, is shared across all your sites: your sales settings, your payment methods, your delivery methods, your VAT rules and your buyers’ customer area are those of your account. The order book is also shared; as soon as you have two sites, a Site column shows where each order came from and lets you filter. A product stays on the site where you created it.

The “Ready to sell” banner

At the top of the Settings tab, a banner summarises what is missing. As long as a blocking point remains unresolved, your payment buttons are replaced on the published site by the wording “On sale soon”: your visitors can see the catalogue, but they cannot place an order.

  • Blocking: no payment method in service (card payment via Stripe or bank transfer), no active delivery method while products requiring shipping are on sale, or terms and conditions of sale not filled in.
  • To keep an eye on, but not blocking: Stripe account missing or being activated, seller’s legal identity not filled in, no products on sale, or missing weights on products requiring shipping while your delivery charges are calculated by weight (in which case their orders would be refused).

The pages the shop adds to your site

Each time you publish, the shop generates its own pages in the /shop/ folder of your site: the catalogue (the address /shop/), a page per product, your showcase pages, then the service pages: the basket, the checkout, the order confirmation and the customer area. These service pages always exist; they cannot be renamed or deleted. Their address is the same in every language of the site.

How your visitors find the shop

  • In the site menu: add an item in Menu / Navigation and choose the “Shop” destination that suits you as the link: the whole catalogue, a showcase page, a product, the basket or the customer area.
  • On a page: place the Product List component from the editor palette. It displays your products in a grid, with an optional search field that queries the whole catalogue. With no products on sale, this block disappears from the published site.
  • From a button or an image: any link in the editor can point to a shop destination, in the same way as to a page.
