The navigation menu

Build your site's navigation bar: add items, link them to a page, an external URL or the shop, create submenus, and choose the order and what stays visible on small screens.

The menu is the navigation bar displayed at the top of your site, on every page. You build it in the Menu / Navigation section of your site. The pages themselves are created in Pages: a page that isn't in the menu still exists, it's simply harder to find. Adding and linking an item#

1. Click Add an item and enter its label (60 characters maximum): this is the word displayed in the bar.
2. Open the item to give it a link: a page on your site, an external URL, or a shop destination if your site has one (catalogue, showcase page, product, basket, customer area). An item without a link serves as the title of a submenu.
3. Reorder items by dragging them by their handle: the order shown here is the order on the site.

Submenus#

Drag an item beneath another to make it a sub-item: the parent becomes a drop-down menu. If the parent also has a link, its label leads there and a small chevron next to it opens the submenu.

What stays visible on small screens#

When space runs short (narrow screen, long labels), the last items are automatically tucked into the “hamburger” menu (the ☰ button). Tick Keep visible as a priority on an item so that it stays in the bar as long as possible: ideal for “Contact” or “Book”.
