Publishable sites and reserve sites
How many sites your account can have, which one your visitors see, and how to put another site in its place without deleting anything.
Your account can have 3 sites, 1 of them online. The My websites page sorts them into two sections, each with its own count: Publishable websites and Websites in reserve.
The publishable site
It has its own address, and once published your visitors see it there. It alone has the Publish button, a domain name and the full backup. See Publishing Your Site.
Reserve sites
They have no address and only you can see them, so you can try another style or prepare a new version. You edit them just like the publishable site. A site created when the publishable slot is taken goes into reserve; during the trial, the create button is called Create another version.
Putting a reserve site online
- On the site card, click Put online…. The same button replaces Publish at the top of the editor for a reserve site.
- The dialog names the address and, if there is one, the site giving up its place. Confirm with Put online.
- The site is published at that address, usually in less than a minute. The old one goes back into reserve, exactly as it was.
If you delete the publishable site
The slot remains, with its address and its domain name, and shows Free slot: your visitors see a “site unavailable” page there. Depending on the case, it offers Create a new website here or Put one of my websites here…. Nothing goes online unless you do it.
