Images and Icons in the Editor

Choose an image from the media library or import one from a field, fill in the alternative text, ask the assistant for a visual, and choose an icon.

Choosing an image

In a component’s form, an image field displays Choose an image… (then Change image… and Remove image). The window that opens shows your media library with a search box; Import a new image… uploads a file from your computer, which is immediately added to the media library; Manage media opens the full section in a new tab. Formats and limits: see The Media Library.

  • Components crop their images to their own aspect ratio (square, 4:3, 16:9…): start from a large enough image, as cropping is done from the centre.
  • The background of a section (a full-screen photo behind a banner) isn’t chosen in the component but in the section’s background. See A section’s background.
  • If the import fails, the message tells you why: unreadable file, expired session (reload the page), or site currently being edited by someone else in your account.

Alternative text

Every image has an Alternative text field: a sentence describing the image (“Restaurant terrace dining area in the evening”). It is read by search engines and by people using a screen reader, and displayed if the image fails to load. The description entered in the media library is offered by default.

A Visual from the Assistant

No photo yet? Select the component with a single click and tell the assistant “put a photo of bouquets here”: it will pick one from our royalty-free illustration bank. For your own photo or your logo, go through the media library. See The AI Assistant.

Choosing an icon

The Icon fields (features, buttons, steps…) open the icon library: a keyword search, categories, and Remove icon to do without one. The icons are vector-based: they take on the theme’s colour and stay sharp at any size.
