Publish your site

Putting your site online: the included address, the email verification required beforehand, how to publish your updates, and what can block a publication.

Publishing puts the latest version of your site online. Until you republish, your visitors see the previous version: you can make changes with complete peace of mind.

The included address#

From the very first publication, your site is available at its included address on wacapella.com, secure (https) and ready to share straight away. For an address in your own name: Connect your domain name.

Update your website online#

Publish again: the new version replaces the old one all at once, with no disruption to your visitors.

Where to find the button#

The Publish button is at the top of the screen, on every section of your site, with a badge showing the status: “Site online, up to date”, “Unpublished changes” or “Site never published”. The Publication section shows the progress of the upload, the date of the last publication, the number of visible pages and the size of the site, as well as the Visit button.

If publishing is refused#

• Email address not confirmed: click the link you received when you signed up, or resend it from “My Websites”.
• Two pages with the same address: change the URL of one of them in its page properties.
• A block removed from the catalogue is present on a page: delete it in the editor.
• Trying again isn’t enough: the refusal remains until you take the action indicated.

Remove the site from the Internet#

There is no “unpublish” button. To stop showing your site, switch on Site under construction in the site settings and then publish: your visitors will see a holding page and your content is preserved. See The site settings.
