Displaying your blog on your site

The pages the blog generates, the display settings, the menu link, and translating articles.

There are no pages for you to create: each time the site is published, the blog generates the /blog/ page (the list of articles) and one page per published article, at the /blog/… address chosen in the editor. An Atom feed (/feed.xml, the twenty most recent articles) is added to the root of the site. Beyond twenty articles, the list is automatically split into pages.

Display settings#

The Display button in the list opens two sections. Blog page: the page title (leave empty for no header), an introduction (which also serves as the description for search engines), a header image, the article layout (list with image on the left, or a grid of cards), and whether summaries, dates, and keywords are shown. Articles: the publication date, the signature, the “All articles” link at the end of each article, and a signature offered by default for each new article.

Articles are always sorted from newest to oldest. The settings take effect the next time the site is published.

Adding the blog to the menu#

In the article list, expand “How visitors find your blog” and click Add to menu: a “Blog” entry pointing to the article list is added to the navigation, visible the next time you publish. The editor’s link selector (buttons, images, menu entries) also offers the “Blog” destination as soon as an article is published.

A blog in several languages#

Published articles are translated along with the rest of the site from the Languages section: title, summary, texts, captions, and keywords. Each language has its own list and its own article pages. See A Site in Several Languages.
