Galleries

Organize your works once in a gallery, describe each one with your own fields, then show it on your pages.

The Galleries section brings together works that are described in the same way: your drawings, your paintings, your albums. A work edited here changes everywhere the gallery appears, at the next publication.

Creating a gallery

  1. Open Galleries in the site menu, then New gallery (or Create my first gallery).
  2. Give it a name (“Original drawings”, “Albums”), then click Create the gallery.
  3. Drop your images into the Works area: each one becomes a work. Click a work to write its title, its description and its information, to rotate it or set its focal point, then Save. Drag the works to change their order.

A site can have up to 30 galleries, and a gallery up to 500 works. The images in a gallery belong to it: they do not appear in Media, and they disappear along with their work.

Describing your works

Each work has an image, a title and a description. Under What we know about each work, Add a field creates a piece of information shared by every work: Short text, Number, Date, Dimensions, Choice from a list, Tags, Yes or no, Link or Image. A Private field never appears on the site (the provenance, a buyer). Do not translate keeps a value as it is in every language of the site (a character's name).

Showing a gallery on a page

In the editor, open a Photo gallery or Thumbnails block and choose A gallery from the website under Images shown, then the gallery. You can show only part of it (Show, Value range), choose the Order, the Filter buttons, the Details below the work and, for a large gallery, the number of Works shown first: the rest arrive with the “Show more” button. Dropping images onto a block that doesn’t have a gallery yet creates one.

An edited gallery does not change the site on its own: publish to update your pages. A deleted gallery leaves its block without works, and the block disappears from the published site.
