The restaurant menu
Build a menu with sections, dishes, prices, labels, and allergens; the mobile version generated automatically, complete with filters and search; and the QR code badge that leads to it.
The Menu component (Business category) displays your menu on the page and, when you publish, derives a mobile version from it designed to be read at the table, along with its QR code. You only enter the menu once.
Building the menu
- Sections (Starters, Main courses, Desserts, Lunch set menu, etc.), each with a name and a description. Fill in the set menu price to turn a section into a set menu: its price is shown as the heading, and its dishes appear without prices.
- Within each section, the dishes: name, description, price as free text (“12 €”, “4 € / 18 €”, “Market price”), an optional photo, labels, and allergens.
- The labels are a fixed list: Vegetarian, Vegan, Spicy, Homemade, New, Our favourite. They are displayed as pills with an icon.
- At the bottom of the menu: the Show allergens under each dish option, the QR badge linking to the mobile menu, and a note (“Prices are net, service included”).
On the page, the sections are spread across two columns (just one on a phone), with each dish on a single “name … price” line joined by leader dots.
Allergens
The Allergens field offers the fourteen allergens that must be declared, in the order set out in the European regulation: gluten, crustaceans, eggs, fish, peanuts, soya, milk, nuts, celery, mustard, sesame, sulphites, lupin, molluscs. Tick the ones in each dish: they appear on a discreet line beneath the dish (if the option is enabled) and feed the “without” filter on the mobile menu, where they are always visible.
The mobile menu
Each time you publish, every page containing a menu is given a dedicated mobile page, at the address /m/ followed by a ten-character key. This key never changes, even if you rename or translate the page: a printed QR code remains valid. The mobile page presents your sections as tabs, with a search box, filters by label and by “without” a given allergen, no header or footer, and a link back to your site. It is not indexed by search engines.
The QR code badge
Tick QR badge linking to the mobile menu: on the published site, a panel displays the QR code that leads to the mobile menu, with a caption and a link. In the editor, there is only a placeholder (“QR code generated on publication”): the real code doesn’t exist until the site is online, since it depends on the site’s address. When the page is printed, the link disappears and the QR code remains: print the published page to obtain your code.
