Create a site

How to create a new site: the process in a few questions, the automatic preparation of the first version, and what happens next.

Click New site (during the trial, once a first site has been created: Create another version) and answer the questions (what the site is about, its name, your activity). A complete first version is prepared, with pages, colors and starter text suited to your sector.

  • Publish: your publishable site goes live immediately.

The creation process in detail

  1. What will your website be about? A business, an artist, an association, an event… One click is enough, and the following questions adapt. Already have a site online? Give its address on this same screen instead: Octave picks up its text, its photos and its contact details.
  2. Your site name and its language, then your activity in a few sentences of your own, with suggested examples. The description is optional, but it's what produces text that sounds like you.
  3. Your pages: a multi-page site or a single page. The home page is always included.
  4. The mood and your colors: each mood is shown in a preview, with your name on it; its colors are set just below (a smart selection, a different palette, or your own brand colors, primary and accent). Then the presentation style, with your entire home page shown in each one: balanced, clean (the essentials in just a few sections), or immersive (large background photos).
  5. The summary, then Create my website. Preparation takes less than a minute; you can close the page, the site will be waiting for you in “My sites”.

The text is written by AI and the starter visuals come from our illustration library. A first blog post about your activity is also written and waits for you as a draft; it is only published if you decide to publish it. For a shop, up to three product pages are also prepared from the products you mentioned, not on sale and with example prices: check them and add your own photos before putting them on sale. When automatic writing is no longer available for your account, the site is prepared with example text, which you then replace or have the assistant write page by page.
