Your email, your password and your languages

Change your account email address, change your password, choose the interface language and the default language for your sites, and manage your session.

These settings are found in Global Settings, at the bottom of the left-hand column of your account. They apply to your account, not to your sites: a site's settings are in its own Settings section.

Changing your email address#

Your email address is your login ID and receives the messages sent from your sites' forms. In the Account card, enter the new address and your current password. A confirmation link is sent to the new address: the change only takes effect once you click it. In the meantime, the old address remains active.

Changing your password#

There is no password change form in your account: use Forgotten password? on the login page, even if you know your old one. You'll receive a link valid for one hour, then choose a password of at least eight characters. Your other devices are logged out in the process, which also makes this the right move if you think a device is no longer secure. See Forgotten password.

Display language and the language of your sites#

• Display language: the language of the menus, buttons and messages in your account area and in the editor (French, English, German or Brazilian Portuguese). It has no effect on the text of your sites.
• Default content language: the language each new site inherits (starter text, AI writing). It can still be changed site by site.

Session and login#

A session stays open for seven days. Log out, in the Session card, closes it on this device. After several failed login attempts, access is suspended for a few minutes: wait, then try again. To make logging in more secure, enable two-factor authentication.
