Choosing a provider

The choice of provider depends, of course, on its use, any applications installed (CMS, forum, etc.), and traffic. However, reliability and ease of configuration are also criteria to consider when choosing your hosting provider.

WebAcappella relies mainly on static pages and uses very few server resources and has few technical constraints.

Choosing shared hosting is therefore a wise decision from a financial and ease-of-use perspective.

Forget about free hosting (e.g., FREE or Orange page perso), whose reliability is not guaranteed.

Here are the hosting providers that caught our attention

The hosting providers we use

OVH

Somewhat complicated for certain operations (installation of SSL certificates).

O2SWITCH

Attractive pricing and a comprehensive administration console.

See the O2Switch offer:

Which SSL certificate should you choose for https?

Always striving to offer our customers the best, we previously acquired an EV SSL certificate.

This ultimate certificate, which is supposed to display a nice green bar in browsers, now appears like all other certificates in browsers.

This certificate, which is mainly promoted by certificate vendors, has little (if any) influence on customers.

In short, let's be pragmatic: our experience has shown us that a simple, free Let's Encrypt certificate is just as good for our customers.

At o2switch, you just need to click a button to activate HTTPS via the Let's Encrypt certificate.

Finally, remember that a site secured by SSL (HTTPS) does not mean that the site is secure, but that exchanges (card numbers or personal data) are encrypted.

Some e-commerce professionals, in order to reassure their customers, will therefore prefer a paid SSL certificate (OV SSL or EV SSL) because internet users will be able to verify the physical identity of the seller in their browser (which internet users do not usually do).

Domain name and renewal

A domain name (.fr or .com, for example) is often inexpensive to purchase for the first year (€8 to €10).

Be careful when renewing the following year, as the domain name can increase from €9 to €15 with some hosting providers.
