Behind the scenes, the WebAcappella Fusion team is putting the finishing touches on Service Pack 4. Before its release, let’s give you a sneak peek: two new flexible containers, four new components (button, medallions, table, accordion), a gradient Shape Divider editor, and direct search within the resource picker. Here’s a preview of what’s in store.
Two new containers to free up the layout
Organizing elements in a perfectly regular grid, or distributing them adaptively according to the available width: these two layout approaches currently require workarounds. SP4 will introduce two new containers, distinct and complementary, each addressing a specific need.
The Grid
The Grid will allow you to create a layout with perfectly regular columns and rows, with controlled spacing. Ideal for product galleries, team member grids, collections of testimonials, or any symmetrical set of elements where visual regularity is paramount.
The FlexLayout Container
Based on the CSS flexbox model, the FlexLayout Container will handle adaptive layouts: horizontal or vertical alignment, distribution of available space, and automatic line breaks on narrow screens. The perfect tool for sections where each element retains its own logic while adapting to the space it occupies.
The two containers are not meant to replace one another. SP4 will finally give you the right tool for every situation—and it is this distinction that makes all the difference when building modern layouts.
Four new components
SP4 will expand the library with four new components: button, medallions, table, and accordion. They have been designed to offer extensive customization and integrate natively into the new flexible containers.
Button
The new Button component will include all modern customization options: icon positioning, separate hover and active states, adaptive behavior in flex contexts, pixel-precise configurable inner margins, and support for dynamic colors from the site palette. It will replace the current one for new projects.
Medallions
Medallions will combine a circular image, title, subtitle, and link in a compact visual format. The ideal component for highlighting a team, testimonials, certifications, or a list of partners, with a harmonious layout regardless of the number of elements.
Table
The Table component will allow you to present structured data—pricing, comparisons, technical specifications, schedules—with precise control over cells, headers, borders, and responsive behavior on mobile. This replaces workarounds based on stacked columns with a true, clean, and accessible table.
Accordion
The Accordion component allows you to structure content that can be collapsed and expanded with a click. Perfect for FAQs, detailed feature lists, terms of sale, or any content-rich section where you want to provide access to a lot of information without visually weighing down the page. Each panel opens independently, with smooth transitions.
Shape Divider: Graphic Polishing Without Touching CSS
Shaped dividers—waves, curves, diagonals, triangles—have become essential on modern websites. They allow you to connect two sections of different colors without a jarring break. Currently, creating them in WebAcappella Fusion often requires custom CSS. SP4 will integrate a Shape Divider editor directly into the box settings.
The concept is simple: you’ll choose the shape, adjust its height and orientation, then customize its appearance with up to three gradient zones to achieve rich color transitions—from soft two-tone gradients to multicolored gradients, including subtle shades between two sections. All with a real-time preview in the editor.
The Shape Divider can be applied to the top, bottom, or both sides of a box. This lets you create sculpted sections that interact with their neighbors, without having to manually stack background images.
Search in the resource picker
When your projects accumulate hundreds of images and files, finding the right element can become tedious. SP4 will add a search bar directly within the resource picker: type part of the name, and the results will filter instantly.
The search will apply to both images and files attached to the project. A small addition, but one that saves time immediately once the media library exceeds a few dozen items.
