Nine days after the release of Service Pack 4, the results are clear: the reception has been very positive, the redesigned responsive menu has been unanimously praised, the e-commerce promotions have immediately found their audience, and your feedback has enabled us to release five hotfixes in less than two weeks (v4.0.1 to v4.0.6). Here’s an overview of what’s changed thanks to you.
All these versions are distributed automatically via the built-in update. If you’re already on SP4, you’re likely already on v4.0.6—otherwise, restart the editor.
The v4 menu: the most improved new feature
The redesigned responsive menu is the most popular new feature—and, naturally, it’s also the one that has received the most adjustments in just a few days.
- Conversion from the old menu — the Store, Search, and language selector entries were lost during the conversion. They are now preserved, including mode and category.
- Shop Item in Menu v4 — on the published site, a Shop item displayed “Category not specified” without a submenu. The shop categories submenu is now generated correctly.
- Font variants — selecting a Google Font variant (Black, Italic, etc.) was not applied to the published site. This is now the case for the root menu, submenu tooltips, and the mobile panel.
- Mobile Panel — the panel header (image, size, label) and the alignment of the hamburger button in the vertical menu are now correctly applied.
Store: adjustments related to payments
Promotions on selected products have been widely adopted since launch. Two critical fixes were pushed out very quickly:
- Promotional price displayed as inclusive of tax on a store set to exclusive of tax — the crossed-out price was correctly displayed as exclusive of tax, but the promotional price remained inclusive of tax. The promotional price now respects the exclusive/inclusive of tax setting on all pages (product, list, cart).
- Custom JSON-LD rejected by Google — the JSON-LD for product listings was published using single quotes instead of double quotes, which made it invalid for Google Rich Results. This has been fixed — please republish the project to regenerate the listings.
- Promotion tags and badges on the product page — they previously appeared only in the list; they are now also displayed on the product detail page.
Table Component: A Newcomer Put to the Test
Since the Table component is entirely new, your initial real-world use cases highlighted two important issues, which we addressed right away:
- Added rows not editable — increasing the number of rows added invisible “frozen” cells until you refreshed the preview. The cells are now immediately editable.
- Invisible Shadow — the table’s shadow was clipped by the horizontal scrollbar. It now displays correctly, including rounded corners and overflow.
- Adjustable mobile toggle threshold — You can now choose the screen size at which the table switches to stacked cards (Never, XS, SM, MD, LG, XL, Always), just like for the mobile menu.
Fonts, shadows, finishing touches
Several cross-cutting adjustments have restored consistency between the editor’s rendering and that of the published site: Google Fonts variants are now rendered using their exact font file (rather than an approximation based on Regular), the shadows of Medallions are applied correctly, and a new “Custom” preset has been added to the Medallion, Flex Container, and Table components to fine-tune the shadow’s color, angle, distance, blur, and spread.
Plus: the little extras based on your requests
- Global dynamic colors unlocked — they are no longer subject to licensing restrictions and are now available to everyone.
- Audio component via external URL — like the Video component, the Audio component now offers “Embedded File” or “Web Address,” with one address per language.
- Mobile preview QR code from the phone — the preview server now listens on all local interfaces: scanning the QR code from a phone connected to the same Wi-Fi opens the preview on the device.
- Accordion: semantic title tag — the clickable summary can now be assigned an h2 to h6 tag to improve SEO and page structure.
Thank you
Five bugfix releases in nine days, focusing on the most visible new features of SP4: this wouldn’t have been possible without precise, well-documented feedback that pinpointed the right details. Thank you to everyone who took the time to report these issues—that’s what allows a Service Pack to mature quickly, without waiting for the next release. If you spot any behavior that seems incorrect, don’t hesitate: version, OS, steps to reproduce, screenshot if possible, and it’ll be in the next version.
