Personal data

Cookies and GDPR

A banner isn't a box to tick: it's the visible result of a simpler question, namely what your website puts on its visitors' devices.

The rules, in three sentences

Consent has to be given, not assumed

A banner that drops trackers before the click is worthless: refusing must be as easy as agreeing.

Not all cookies are the same

The ones that make the website work, such as the basket or the session, don't need consent. The ones that measure or track do.

What you add counts

A map, an embedded video, a statistics tool: each one can drop its own trackers, even if your website drops none.

The simplest option is still to drop nothing

A website with no audience measurement has no banner to show, and nobody to inform.

What we provide, and what we don't promise

  • The software offers a consent banner to put on your website, which you set up yourself.
  • The online version measures visits with no cookies and no third-party trackers, so there is no banner to show.
  • We cannot promise that YOUR website will be compliant: that depends on what you add to it.
  • If you are unsure about your own situation, the data protection authority publishes clear guides.
